Practice Focus:
Ken Ruttenberg is a co-founder of Tesser & Ruttenberg.  He is an experienced and seasoned civil litigator in the areas of real estate,  condominium law, construction and construction defect, mold claims, business torts, sexual harassment and discrimination, personal injury, and insurance bad faith.  He is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.  Ken has obtained many substantial recoveries on behalf of his clients over the past few years.

Significant Matters:
Very recently, Ken settled a multi-party construction defect lawsuit on behalf of seven homeowners for the total sum of $1,625,000.

In recent trials, Ken obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an employer sued for wrongful termination, and a defense verdict on behalf of sellers of real property involving claims of specific performance and breach of contract.

From January 2010 through June 2010, Mr. Ruttenberg has settled an auto accident case for $550,000, an assault and battery claim for $250,000, a same-sex sexual harassment case for $250,000, disputes against condo associations for $245,000 and $195,000, and a landlord-tenant discrimination case for $70,000.

Ken was counsel for the prevailing defendant in Pelton‑Shepherd, etc. v. Delta Packaging Products, Inc. (2008) 165 Cal.App.4th 1568, a published decision involving civil discovery motions.

Activities:
Ken provides pro bono legal services to a non-profit homeowners association in Los Angeles County.

Personal:
Ken is married, has two children and lives in Beverly Hills.  In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, scuba diving, hiking, and traveling.
